There are so many ways that can help you stop overthinking, which will apparently help you overcome your anxiety too. All you need to do is follow the steps or methods that I personally followed and attained victory over my anxiety.
Know Your Thought Process And Anxiety Triggers:
It is very important to know your anxiety triggers, what makes you go restless?
Different people have different symptoms and triggers and anxiety triggers can be really very tough to control. Each trigger will have its own potential treatment, so it is important to identify your unique anxiety trigger to have a proper awareness of your thought that leads to overthinking.
Once you are aware of an anxious thinking pattern, they can begin to work on interventions to manage their anxiety. Eventually, the hope is that the triggers will also become less powerful because you’ll understand their origins.
It’s very easy to fall into the trap of overthinking, so when you are thinking and thinking about something just ask yourself will this matter after a year or two. This is one way of not to overthinking by putting things into a wider perspective. You must always think about the broader perspective, this way you can actually stop over thinking about something and realize if its worthy or not. Taking a broader perspective always help!
And, other ways could be:
Set short time-limits for decisions.
Realize that you cannot control everything.
Take breaks throughout the day.
These few habits can stop you from overthinking about nonproductive things.
All these little methods have helped me overcome my anxiety and other-thinking issues, hope they will help you too.
