Meditation helps you in reducing your day to day stress and it is really helpful in relaxing your mind. Meditation helps in sharpening your concentration as well. Meditation makes you connect to your deepest self and provides a very strong peace. If you haven't practiced it till now, you are missing on something amazing in your life.
I will provide you simple 4 tips to start off. You just need to take out 5-10 minutes everyday for starting it.
1. Sit in a quite place
Sit anywhere in your house which feels comfortable to you. To get started, it doesn't matter whether you lay down, sit crossed legs or sit in a chair. Important point is to be comfortable in any position. Face your palms facing towards sky.
2. Focus in the moment
Become present. Focus on your surroundings, become aware of what your hear, how does it feel to sit and just be.
3. Be aware of your breath
Start with taking three very deep breaths. Inhale deeply into your lungs and staying there till the count of three, then exhaling out to the count of four. It's better to do with your nostril but doing with mouth is also ok.
4. Focus on your body parts
Once you start breathing deeply, focus on your different body parts. Start from your toes and work your way up. Feel that every body part is relaxing deeply. If your mind gets distracted, start focusing on your breathing to bring your mind back.
Practice this everyday and feel tremendous change in your life. With this simple practice, you can change your life in a magical way, you just have to meditate once a day.
